Join us for our next Pompey Darkroom Photo Walk!

Calling all photography enthusiasts! Join us for a unique photo walk through Portsea.

Our Journey:

  • Start: Meet outside Portsmouth Harbour Train Station at 12pm.

  • First stop: Immerse yourself in the "Obscure Objects of Desire" exhibition by the University of Portsmouth's 2nd Year Photography students. This free exhibition is located within the historic dockyards (security bag checks may apply).

  • Next stop: Take a leisurely stroll through Portsea, admiring the natural beauty of Victoria Park in Spring

  • Final stop: Wind down at Pitt Street Kitchen after exploring the brand new WIP Wall by photographer Elle Webster at Pitt Street Skatepark.

Throughout the walk, we'll share a disposable camera with text prompts, encouraging you to see familiar sights from fresh perspectives. The resulting photos will be showcased in an online exhibition on our website, so get ready to share your creativity!

Benefits:

  • Free/pay what you want and open to all photography levels.

  • Discover hidden gems in Portsmouth.

  • Explore a captivating student photography exhibition.

  • Experiment with creative prompts.

  • Contribute to a collaborative online showcase.

Our photo walks are designed to bring photographers together, to allow people to socialise and engage in a safe space. We envision the walk will take no longer than 2-3 hours and we encourage people to stick around and enjoy a drink and conversation at our end destination in Pitt Street Kitchen.

We welcome anyone who may wish to donate as part of their ticket, any amount is hugely appreciated and supports us to keep running and bringing bigger and better events to the city.
