Darkroom Open Day

You’re invited to our Darkroom Open Day, as we open the doors to our home at Playland.

This drop-in session offers a chance to experience the darkroom and learn more about traditional processes, as part of a taster for Pompey Darkroom’s upcoming Adult Programme. Visitors will be able to create their own photographic print using a 4x5 camera setup, producing a paper negative portrait developed on-site to take away.

Alongside this, a collection of photobooks and zines will be available to browse in the space outside the darkroom, and you can explore a range of works produced with students from Priory School as part of our Schools and Educational Programme.

Led by facilitators Thomas and Libby, the day is open to anyone interested in analogue photography, whether new to the process or returning to it.

Feedback is welcomed throughout the day and will help to shape future sessions and the development of Pompey Darkroom’s Adult Programme.
