Reimagining Memories with Pompey Darkroom

Join artists Thaïs Verhasselt and Billie Rae Cawte in a postcard making drop in workshop inspired by Lauren Joy Kennett's evocative exhibition, ‘Sorry, I am not sorry’. Delve into the realms of memory, identity, and self-expression through the transformative power of photography, writing, and art.

Kennett's exhibition serves as a poignant exploration of childhood memories, inspired from old family photographs. In 'Reimagining Memories: The Postcard Project,' participants will embark on a journey of introspection and connection. If you have a passion for photography, you can contribute by taking an image of your own, which will be printed into a postcard. Alternatively, if writing or drawing speaks to your creative soul, we will have a bank of images for you to inspire yourself from.

Whether through heartfelt prose, intricate drawings, or poetic reflections, your response will become a part of Pompey Darkroom’s residency at Aspex Portsmouth — resulting to a collective tapestry of diverse voices, perspectives, and experiences.

The workshop is drop in based and you can arrive anytime between 12-3pm (please note Aspex shuts at 4pm)

You can book your free ticket here or just drop in.

Location: The Vulcan Building, Portsmouth PO1 3BF
